CSV Normandy SR-3 main deck plan

Description

Layout of the main deck of the CSV Normandy SR-3 that I designed for my post-ME3 fanfic series ("A Longer Haul," "Disconnected," and I think the third installment will be called "Integration.")

Conceived by the Alliance Joint Advanced Starship Design Bureau (supervised by Adm. Hannah Shepard) under the Consensus Council's "Project Phoenix Flight" initiative, the third-generation SR-type frigate in the Normandy lineage continues to push the envelope just as her predecessors did. It incorporates all of therefinements made to the SR-2 (Silaris armour, cyclonic kinetic barriers, Thanix cannons, QEC communications), and adds a number of geth innovations. GARDIAN laser point-defenses are augmented by several small-scale Thanix turrets; geth-piloted Satellite Intelligence Drones expand the ship's sensor horizon; and many systems can be operated by digital 'virtual crew,' reducing the organic crew requirements.

The most drastic addition, however, is the "Conduit Drive" created following the Crucible Day Event to facilitate practical galactic travel without the mass relay network. Resembling a miniature relay slung under the main hull, the Conduit Drive uses the same principles to enable travel at speeds far exceeding conventional FTL, but producing static electric charge at a rate requiring a static sink dump after any transit of approximately 650 lightyears. Consequently, travel along novel routes is generally slower and more conservative as many dump sites are mapped at short intervals, but subsequent trips can be plotted with fewer and longer-distance conduit jumps.

The third-gen SR-type frigate has two shuttle hangars, with the starboard bay normally serving for combat operations (due to its proximity to the armoury) and the port bay geared toward support functions. Each hangar normally houses one Kodiak shuttle, but can accommodate two, or a Kodiak and a Trident fighter, or two fighters. SR-3 can also land and deploy personnel and support vehicles from an aft-facing embarkation bay on the lower deck, or personnel via a port-side ramp leading to an auxiliary airlock.

Hatches in the floor of the corridor connecting the forward and aft sections facilitate evacuation to lower-deck escape pods. Virtual crew evacuate by ejecting the main geth server from the geth storage compartment through a hatch in the dorsal hull.

Very Impressive. If I were an Alliance Officer I would happily pay to have this ship under my command. From the scale it seems a bit big to be a stealth frigate like the SR1 or SR2 but looks like it could easily be some kind of stealth mobile command center for the Alliance command. The concept of Geth programs being integrated into the ship like EDI is an interesting idea. Could be rather tricky to navigate for the first time crew members but overall looks like it makes sense. Overall, BLOODY BRILLIANT. Few questions: are the fan-fic`s available to read? Since there are Geth programs aboard would this ship be a multi-species project? I could easily picture this with Quarian Engineers, Turian Gunners (For all those Calibrations), Krogan and Rachni Foot soldiers, maybe some Elcor Artillery, Scientist Salarians, Drell Spec-Ops, Asari Biotics, Volus financial backers, etc etc. Or would it be solely an Alliance project. And do you have any designs for the interior of the ship, designs for the rooms, stuff like that? Sorry for the large number of questions, but Im very interested in the idea that you have created here.
Thank you.
PS. do you prefer the Cerberus SR2 or the Alliance SR2 with the retrofits?
